Speed Skating for USA

Speed Skater Harry Vogel
Nikon D700, ISO 400, 70mm, F20 @1/250th

This is Harry Vogel, a speed skater training for the USA Speed Skating Team. This shot was done it only 15 minutes because we did not reserve the ice. It was a very very fast shoot but I think it cam out fairly well. I really want to shoot some more of him when I have more time.

New modern "Portraits"

Ultimate Formal Portrait
Nikon D700, ISO 400, 90mm, F20 @1/160th

This is a portrait I did of my buddy Andrew for our portrait class. I don't like doing "normal" portraits so this is my own twist on a "formal" portrait. I think the fog adds that extra awesome element it needed. Tell me what you think.

Hobbie Portrait
Nikon D700, ISO 400, 105mm, F22 @ 1/80th

This is a shot of Andrew and his favorite hobby, Disc Golf. He is almost a pro disc golfer and I wanted this shot to look like he is the master of the sport and he can spin a disc on his finger.

Career Portrait
Nikon D700, ISO 400, 112mm, F22 @ 1/160th

This is his career shot. He is a meteorologist and now a geography student at UNCG. The map and meteorology book is symbolic of his careers.

Chocolate!

Chocolate Shoot
Nikon D700, 120mm, ISO 400, F22 @1/125th

This is an image I captured for an assignment to provide a picture to represent an article. The article read: “Researchers at the Institute Of Almost Natural Cures have found that eating chocolate in moderate amounts can reduce stress levels, lower blood pressure, help arterial walls remain pliable, and create a simple yet pleasurable euphoria that is beneficial for good mental health.” I think it explained the article fairly well.

Light Painting!

This is my first attempt at Light Painting. I got inspired by Eric Curry and his light painting. http://americanprideandpassion.com/ Thanks to Landon Mathers, I was able to capture this image and video. We worked in the dark for 4-5 hours lighting each piece of this image. We even had fun and put ourselves in the photo. It took about 4 hours and 41 layers in photoshop to get the final image. Let me know what you think!

Doughton Park Panoramic
12 image Panoramic, Nikon D700

This is a panoramic I put together for a project we had at school. This is from Doughton Park off the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. This is one of my favorite places in the world and this image means a lot to me.

My new website is up and running. Let me know what you think!

Water Photo Shoot

Water Drop
Nikon D700, ISO 200, 60mm Macro, f/8 @ 1/200th, SB-600 Flash

This is what I shot for my water assignment. This was extremely fun to shoot. Water droplet is normally very difficult to capture. It turned out very easy for me. Thanks to the help of Landon Mathers, we were able to capture our first water drop on our second shot. This was an awesome shoot and I can't wait to do this again!

Metal Photo Shoot

Chrome, metal

Nikon D700, ISO 400, 60mm Macro, f/22 @ 4sec

This is my metal shot for an assignment at school. I used very shinny chrome mufflers to achieve this shot, but I didn't want you to be able to tell what the metal was. The water gives it a very nice affect.

Portrait Shoot in the Mountains

Nikon D700 200mm ISO400 f/20 @ 1/80

Nikon D700 105mm ISO400 f/20 @ 1/160

Nikon D700 112mm ISO400 f/20 @ 1/50

Nikon D700 100mm ISO400 f/20 @ 1/125

Nikon D700 80mm ISO400 f/20 @ 1/200

This was a photo shoot I did with Caroline Cox, a violinist and Junior at East Carolina University. She is my cousin and we always go to this little remote place in the mountains every year that not many people know about. This was a fun shoot and the weather was just right.

Pharmaceutical Photo Shoot

Nikon D700 60mm ISO 400 f/11 @ 1/15th

This is an image I captured in the studio for on of my pharmaceutical assignments. It represents how much pills influence our lives. We rely on pills to keep us healthy and comfortable. This is expressing the life within the pills.

Nikon D700 112mm ISO 400 f/22 @ 1/250th

This is a shot of my friend Katie for another pharmaceutical shot. It is representing the prescription drug abuse and how easy it is to obtain these drugs. People talk a lot about how easy it is for kids to get their hands on these drugs and how it is simple for them to abuse them.
